Essex County Country Club has sustained their reputation as being the oldest in New Jersey and one of the premier courses in the Tri-State area. The beauty and challenge of our course speaks for itself, and our Junior Golf program includes camps, clinics and instructional packages for juniors 6 to 17.

Our highly acclaimed course is a composite of golden age of golf designers Tillinghast, Raynor and Banks and is consistently rated as one of the Met area's best!

Hole #1

The first of six consecutive holes designed by AW Tillinghast, this Cape requires a straightaway drive of approx. 260 yards which sets up a short downhill approach to a back to front green. Respect this hole and make par.

The Club has relationships with numerous apparel manufacturers, and curates a great selection of products for men, women, and children. From shirts and hats, to skirts and shoes, we have you covered. If you just can't find the perfect item, we are always happy to special order it for you. 

Instruction

Golf can be an intimidating game, but our goal is to make it as accessible as possible. From those who have never swung a club, to single digit handicappers looking to shave off a stroke here and there, our PGA-certified Professional Staff is here for you. We offer a variety of camps, clinics, and small group instruction - not to mention being available for individual coaching. 

Junior Golf

Juniors are the future of our game, and we want all juniors to be as excited about the game as we are! From the beginning, we introduce the game to juniors who have not played before and enhance the fundamentals of current players through teaching, coaching and video analysis. In each program , juniors will learn proper swing fundamentals, course management, rules of the game and course etiquette. They will also have an opportunity to participate in golf contests and giveaways, and share in camaraderie with fellow junior golfers.

Whether it's a small golf outing or enough golfers to fill the course – both the Club's Hospitality and Professional staff will make your event a day to remember.
