Founded in May 1887, Essex County Country Club is the oldest club in the state of New Jersey and the sixth oldest in the country. The original charter established the club "for the encouragement of athletic exercises and sports." An original member of the MGA and NJSGA, ECCC was also one of the 25 founding clubs of the USGA. The highly-acclaimed golf course is a composite of golden age of golf designers Tillinghast, Raynor and Banks and is consistently rated as one of the Met area's best.
Despite being known for its long and challenging golf course, ECCC has always been committed to "promoting a diverse family membership with activities for all ages." The ECCC pool, new Har-Tru tennis courts and full golf practice facilities provide great resources to members and their families. We host one of the finest children's Summer Sports Camps and Junior Golf programs in the state. The active house schedule includes Family Barbecues, Pool Parties and Dinner Dances for all to enjoy.
ECCC is the perfect combination of serious golf in a family environment. Come enjoy the ECCC experience!
